My mom came home from visiting relatives in Louisiana on Tuesday night. Just in time for us to go over and see mom and dad on our normal Tuesday night when Cameron is at his Catechism class. Mom brought the kids t-shirts and some other presents. She brought Jakob a croci-gator. He got a thrill out of seeing her pictures. She had a few photos of crocodiles that they saw in various places. Jakob had the "sharing bag" for school on Thursday which is their "Show n Tell". They only allow one child to bring one item when they get the bag. The kids always get excited when they see the bag in their cubby at the end of the day. :) I put the crocigator in the share bag and Jakob tried to sneak in some other junk from the toy pile. Kids are so funny. He doesn't have very many 'special' items to share so for him, he will just throw any old thing in it.
Lee went to nights this week and the whole family is trying to adjust. It's obvious how Lee is trying to adjust and it can't be easy trying to sleep during the day here with Jakob and Kailey playing. We all can't wait until it's nicer outside.
So Lee's first night of work, my first night to get the bed to myself, I ended up with a little girl with a fever.
I took Kailey in to the doctor yesterday as she has been crabby and whiny and chewing on her fingers again (plus the fever the night before)...which tells me that she probably has an ear infection. She was just in a month ago and had the start of an ear infection and the doctor had said I could give her an antibiotic if I wanted to, or I could wait and see if it gets worse and then give it to her. I opted to give it to her right away in hopes that we would get it taken care of right away. Well, then the poor little thing developed a nasty yeast infection from the antibiotic. Now that it's gone, the ear infection is back...either that or it had never really fully healed. And this time it wasn't just a little one...both ears, full blown. Poor lil thing.
Last night, my second night without my husband and the possibility of sleeping alone, I ended up with a 3 year old in my bed. He hasn't been in our bed for a couple weeks...it's like he KNEW! Daddy is gone! And he's so sneaky! I didn't even realize he was in there until I woke up around 3 am to a crying little girl. Now, this will probably come back to bite me, but I didn't take him back to his bed, i just left him sleep.
Now, I'm sure that my week was more eventful than this, but I just cannot think of anything at the moment as Jakob and I sit and watch "The Grinch Who Stole Christmas" I sure don't want to think about Christmas and snow...but I hear we probably have some more snow coming. I am so sick of the snow and cold. I am so ready for summer!
Well, stay tuned for the next episode of The Thorsens' boring every day life. I really need to start at least jotting down some of the funny things my children say and do. It would make this reading so much more interesting. ;)
